Trail of Lomba do Ingá

The Caminho da Lomba do Ingá Trail starts at Costão do Santinho, and goes to the Mozambique beach, skirting the west face of Morro das Aranhas. On the way, dunes, sandbanks and lakes make up the landscape. The area is a preservation area, it belongs to the Parque Florestal do Rio Vermelho. The average altitude is 30m and is about 2km long. For most of the route, the walk is flat, but there are moments of soft dune, which makes walking difficult. It is accessible to people with little experience and without a guide, as the route is well outlined, difficult to get lost. The ancients used this route to reach the Barra da Lagoa, when transport was very scarce and difficult. Fishermen use the path to reach places where mullet fishing is more profitable.
