Trail of Morro das Aranhas

Trail of Morro das Aranhas

Among the attractions of the trail are areas for bathing in the sea, lithic workshops, cliffs, views of the spider island, Mozambique beach, Rio Vermelho State Park and for the Santinho beach, in addition to six streams. THE Trail of Morro das Aranhas begins at the southern corner of Santinho, where the rock inscriptions of the costão are located and ends at Mozambique beach. Access through Mozambique is through a sandbank located on an unpaved road, located within the Rio Vermelho forest reserve and ends at the Santinho coast.

To enjoy this look, the adventurer needs to be prepared. The 2.200 meter long walk is made along the coast of Morro das Aranhas and takes approximately 1 hour. The trail is quite bumpy, with many sections and difficult points of walking, in which it is necessary to deviate, climb and descend through many rocks that are part of the route. In addition, it is recommended to be aware of the unevenness, quite common during the trail, requiring support with the hands and exposure to height. Therefore, it is not recommended to take children along the trail and be careful when carrying a lot of weight or objects that may make it difficult to support the body or use the hands.

It is important that adventurers do the trail with proper clothing, using light clothes. It is also recommended the use of caps, sneakers with adherent soles, pants or shorts and high socks, due to the numerous sharp ties, mud stretches, cliffs and undergrowth.

To replenish your energy, always carry something light to eat in your backpack (fruits, cereal bars, sandwiches) and plenty of water, as the trail will cause a lot of physical wear and tear and hydrate the body during the walk is essential. If you got tired while walking, take breaks and wait for your breath to come back. There is no shortage of natural beauties to appreciate: throughout the route it is possible to see the open sea, the island of spiders, many fishing boats, seagulls and the panoramic view of Santinho beach and Mozambique.
