Exhibition “It looks like something happens”, at the Public Library of Santa Catarina

! - This event/schedule has already happened - !

The exposure "It seems that something happens”, developed by Wallonia-Brussels International, is on display at Santa Catarina Public Library until January 10, 2023. The exhibition features a selection of comics by French-speaking authors from Belgium, published by alternative publishers. Comic books, or “Gibis”, are important artistic expressions for French-speaking culture.

Belgium is the birthplace of some of the authors responsible for the great moments of the so-called Ninth Art. It was there that Hergé created The Adventures of Tintin, Franquin drew those of Spirou and Fantasio and Peyo created the little blue characters, the Smurfs. "If from the 1940s onwards we can distinguish the School of Brussels (of the authors of the light line) from the School of Marcinelle (of the adepts of the atomic style), it is possible to say that the comics developed between Wallonia and the capital of the country", define the organizers. The exhibition is organized by the Public Library of SC, together with the honorary consul of Belgium in Florianópolis, Jeroen Servaes.
