Visual artist sR Lima presents, until October 2nd, at Galeria Itaguaçu + Arte, in Shopping Itaguaçu, the exhibition “Alter Ego”. Through his collage works of magazine clippings on paper, he seeks to allow the exhibition's audience to discover and reflect on their own “other self”. The exhibition consists of 10 works, one of which will be donated to a charity.
The exhibition proposes a reflection on the unknown angle of an individual's identity. Which consists of the personification of a fictitious identity, but always analogous to your standard personality. We all have multiple aspects or ways of being, even if only part of them is cultivated and developed. “Alter Ego” refers to these other aspects, which tend to present characteristics that the average individual represses or would like to express.
It is through the paper collage technique that the works construct the “other self”, like cutouts of human subtlety. The exhibition proposes a redefinition of these sections, in new spaces and artistic expressions. A reflection on trying to build oneself again, on reusing several faces, on self-knowledge and achieving totality.
