The Parque de Coqueiros was built between 1999 and 2000 in an area of the continent known by the suggestive name of Saco da Lama, given by the City Hall to the community.
Currently, the park, whose administration was taken over by Florianopolis City Hall, provides the community with a track for running and walking, sports courts, an illuminated bike path, a space for children's recreation and a lake. It hosts the Spring Festival annually, hosting numerous art and leisure attractions, as well as other regional events, such as concerts and craft beer festivals.
