Pedra da Vigia Trail

Pedra da Vigia refers to the times when whaling was not only allowed but also necessary. It was at this point that the lookout kept an eye on the sea and warned his companions when cetaceans approached.

From there you can see the entire southeast coast of Santa Catarina Island, from Ponta do Facão, between Matadeiro and Lagoinha do Leste, to Joaquina beach.

The tour also includes a visit to the ruins of whale oil storage tanks. Along the beach, heading south, you arrive at an archaeological site with a lithic workshop with several polishing basins and grinders.

This trail is closed for environmental recovery.
