As permanent preservation areas, the dunes are, without a doubt, one of the biggest natural attractions in Florianópolis. It is practically impossible for anyone to visit the Island and not be enchanted by its mobile, fine and white sands, which form beautiful and challenging elevations.
The dunes are located in Conceição Lagoon, Joaquina Beach, Ingleses Beach, Santinho beach, Mozambique beach, Campeche beach, Armacao Beach and Pantano do Sul beach.
However, there are three formations most sought after by tourists. The smallest is between the beaches of English e saint.
Ingleses beach has yet another dune formation. A little bigger than the first one, and is used as a trail to go to Mozambique.

The most famous of all is the one that separates the beach from joaquina da Conceição Lagoon. In them, moreover, was born the sandboard, also known as "sand surf". Although geographers argue that the practice of the sport deteriorates the sandbanks, anyone who wants to feel the emotion of going down the dunes on a board can rent it on site.
