The northern region of the island is home to a large service hub, because it attracts many tourists during the summer and has permanent residents. Because of this, there is a great infrastructure of commerce and utilities. In Ponta das Canas, on the health side, there are private medical clinics and a public health post. The Polyclinic of the North of the Island, which serves the public health service, is a little further away, approximately 9 km from Ponta das Canas Beach. Currency exchange, internet and fax, telephone, laundry, utility stores in general can also be found. The nearest police station and fire department are in Canasvieiras. The nearest bus terminal is Tican, which is on the SC-401 road. From this terminal, it is possible to transfer to various points on the island. Stay tuned: there are no lifeguard stations on the beaches. Be careful when swimming too far or with children. There are wastebaskets on the beach, so throw your garbage in the trash. There are no showers, public toilets or lockers.
