Barra da Lagoa Trail to Galheta

From the Bridge to the Nudist Beach

Passing the bridge over the Canal da Barra da Lagoa, turn right along a path that is well known by the locals. After walking for about five minutes through the alleys, we continue on to the last house.

When arriving at Prainha da Barra, the path goes to the left, along the slope, going up the mountain. Along the way, pay close attention to the markings that indicate the point where the trail divides. Moving on, one goes to the "natural pools". Take the path to the right, towards the top of the mountain. It takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the summit.

At the top of the hill is located the Barra da Lagoa Lighthouse. At about 200 meters high, a panoramic view fills the eyes. you can see the Barra da Lagoa beach, Conceição Lagoon, Mozambique beach and the Ecological Reserve of Red River. These are just some of the attractions of the tour that ends in legalized beach for nudism. The vegetation, composed of cravats and cacti, is an indication of past fires. They are primary plants that grow even in dry soil.

At the place known as Pico da Bandeira, right at the top of the hills, you can see the entire trail to Galheta. From this point, just go straight ahead along the winding path at the top of the hill.

Some parts of the route are unlit, but, moving forward, the trail begins to descend the hills towards the Galheta Beach. There, visitors can take a dip and quench their thirst at the fountain that is right in the middle of the beach. Then just continue the walk to the soft beach, which leads to the SC-406 highway.
