Hercilio Luz International Airport

The beginning of the operation as a commercial airport takes place on June 21, 1927, when an airplane of the Latécoerè Company, piloted by the Frenchman Paul Vachet, landed in the Ressacada field. However, it was only in the period from 1952 to 1954 that the passenger terminal was built and the administration was carried out by the Civil Aviation Department (DAC) and, until 1955, the Base/Airport complex had a control tower, built in wood, a 1.500 mx 45 m concrete runway and a grass yard for aircraft parking. Since then, numerous works have been carried out to expand and improve the airport's infrastructure to provide comfort and safety to its users.
