Santos Dumont Square

Between the 1970s and 1980s, the City Hall carried out the Cura Project, which promoted improvements in several squares in the city. It was from this project that the current design of Praça Santos Dumont was defined, with flower beds and stairs. Known mainly for being the stage of the famous Festa da Laranja, as the Festa da Paróquia da Santíssima Trindade is better known, which takes place every year in June. During the 1990s, the event became known as Festa da Laranja, due to the abundant number of dishes involving this fruit. In the surroundings of the square, there is a small shopping center, commercial buildings, and bars that concentrate student get-togethers throughout the year.
