After the end-of-year festivities, full of champagne and wishes for peace, the desire to jump into the colorful Carnival begins, full of beer and wishes for revelry. In the same way as New Year's Eve, the Carnival in Florianopolis offers options for all tastes.
Carnival on Magic Island!
The most popular party in Brazil takes many forms in the Capital of Santa Catarina and offers several options for everyone to enjoy the party the way they want. Before the party even officially starts, the rehearsals of schools and blocks and the pre-carnival parties, as traditional as Berbigão do Boca, warm up and prepare the public for the festivities.
In the city's clubs, revelers have fun with the most authentic Carnaval de Salão. The bands play sambas-enredo, marchinhas and northeastern rhythms such as frevo and axé. The public usually attends the party in costume.
The neighborhoods are invaded by the blocks in the Street carnival, which bring together residents and tourists in a great party, with no time to end. Among them, the most famous is the parade of Dirty Blocks, on the Saturday of Carnival, when men dress up as women, women dress up as men and everyone enjoys revelry in the Center of the Capital. Saint Anthony of Lisbon e sambaqui are some of the neighborhoods that have a street carnival tradition. Some groups from Maracatu also join the blocks and emanate the good energies of Afro-Brazilian folk music.
There is also the option of enjoying Carnival on the beach, by the sea, often with bands or DJs, on the main beaches and hot spots.
There are still several parties and concentrations aimed especially at the LGBT public, since Florianópolis is considered one of the main tourist destinations, especially at this time of year.
As nightclubs and bars that offer nightly programming in the city have a special agenda for Carnival. Not all opt for the samba repertoire. Floripa offers options for all musical tastes. It is even a reference for its electronic carnival.
A Nego Quirido catwalk will boil on Saturday of Carnival with the parade of the Samba Schools of the Special Group: Guarani Nation, Copa Lord Embassy, States of Colonine, Protected by the Princess, consulate e Dascuia.
