Pico do Cambirela (mountain close to the sea) has an altitude of 1.043m, enough for you to enjoy a magnificent view of Florianópolis and the region.
With latitude 27° 45' south and longitude 48° 40' west, Cambirela (or Gambirela) is a mountain composed of granite and basalt, commonly found in border regions between Serra do Mar and Serra Geral. Its geological formations are differentiated, from remaining vegetation of the Atlantic Forest to about 800m of altitude; afterwards, there are basically grasses and little altitude vegetation.
Man's hands in the natural landscape are already visible. A crater of an immense quarry attacks the landscape and the massif. However, life resists: plantation owners have tried to reconstitute the wound by planting trees, in an effort to heal it because of mineral exploration.
The mountain is located in the municipality of Hut, in Florianópolis, and is part of the Serra do Tabuleiro State Park.
