The Museum of Man of Shellmound is of rare importance for the study of the evolution of human customs and Man himself. There are almost 200 skeletons, in an amazing state of conservation, with an estimated age between 1.055 and 1.552 years. The Museum has a zoology wing in which there are animals of various species preserved through taxidermy. The collection also features sacred art, numismatics (coins and banknotes), fossils up to 225 million years old, indigenous tools and other materials.
