Opened on September 25, 2003, the Garbage Museum was born from the initiative of a group of employees from Comcap, the company responsible for cleaning the streets of Florianópolis. Monitors accompany visitors throughout the circuit and explain the process through which the garbage goes. The visit ends at the Garbage Museum, where the public can check out the collection that houses curious objects found among the garbage. Among them are an old record player, knick-knacks, household appliances and lots of books. There are also workshops and activities with children, aimed at environmental education.
