Church of Our Lady of Conception

This sesmaria area became the well-known Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. To be built, the church plan had to go to Portugal and be approved by the Court. Completed in 1780, it was visited by Dom Pedro II, who donated a silver monstrance and two bells, which are still part of the Church. In 1974, the Igrejinha da Lagoa, as it is known, was listed as a Historic-Cultural Heritage. In 1999 it was elevated to the status of Sanctuary.
