It was in the dunes of joaquina that was born sandboard, an extreme sport that consists of going down the sandbars on a board designed for that purpose.
There you can rent them for fun. For the more cautious, there is a slightly wider board for sitting down.
Praia Joaquina is very close to Lagoa da Conceição, in fact the beach is a neighborhood of Lagoa.
