Ponta do Goulart

Ponta do Goulart is a hill and a portion of land that extends over the sea on the edge of the João Paulo neighborhood. Located between two conservation units, the Manguezal do Itacorubi Municipal Park and the Carijós Ecological Station, is one of the main marine and terrestrial ecosystems that make up the region. In the past, the Ponta do Goulart region was used for agriculture, livestock and firewood extraction, which almost caused the deforestation of almost the entire area, as well as activities related to fishing. With urban development, agricultural practices were abandoned and native vegetation gradually regenerated. Currently, its trails lead to 08 small beaches, practically unknown to most residents of the city, where you can have a picnic or simply contemplate the exuberant view of the north bay and the continental region.
