Located about 3 km from the Bar Channel, the permanent preservation area has 1100 hectares and protects an extensive coastal sandbank that joins Morro das Aranhas to Barra da Lagoa, forming a diversity of systems such as wetlands with mangrove vegetation, native vegetation masses, mobile dunes, exotic forest and fixed dunes. Created in 1962, it has an extensive area of ​​reforestation with exotic trees, such as Pinus Eliotti.
