Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession

Built in 1913, the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession marks the presence of the small German colonization on the island. With the neo-Gothic features preserved until today, the Church occupied the same land where the German School used to be. The area was cut in 1958 to make room for Rua Leoberto Leal. In front of the School there was a small hospital maintained by the German colony, which went through a serious crisis during the Second World War. The Hospital and the School closed their activities, but the services in the Church remain. Recently, both the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession and the German school underwent renovations sponsored by the Koerich family, where they received a new external painting and revitalization of the surroundings, with the inclusion of benches and gardens on the sidewalk in front.   Address: Rua Nereu Ramos, 21
