Santa Catarina Historical Museum – Cruz e Sousa Palace

The Building of the Historical Museum of Santa Catarina Palácio Cruz e Sousa hosted the State Government until 1984 and became a museum in 1986, having already received illustrious visits such as the Brazilian Emperors Dom Pedro I and Dom Pedro II.
was the scene of Federalist Revolution in 1891, when the rebels took over the place, and the beginning of Novembrada, when the President João Batista de Oliveira Figueiredo was assaulted. With several renovations and restorations, it won ten statues of the Italian artist Gabriel Sielva. The works decorate the external facade of the building.
