Museum of the Man of Sambaqui

The Museu do Homem do Sambaqui is of great importance for the study of the evolution of human customs and of man himself. In it, almost 200 skeletons are exposed in an amazing state of conservation, with ages estimated between 1.055 and 1.552 years old. The Museum also has a zoology wing, in which there are animals of various species preserved through taxidermy. The collection also features sacred art, numismatics (coins and banknotes), fossils up to 225 million years old, indigenous tools and other materials.
