Rappelling is a descent technique derived from mountaineering, used in the exploration of caves and caves and in rescues. However, it is increasingly being practiced as an extreme sport, whether on walls specially designed for the sport, in the so-called indoor modality, or in waterfalls, caves and walls.

Santinho Trail - Spiders

Located in the northeast region of Florianópolis, the trail is 600 meters long, with an altitude ranging from 0 to 50 meters. The beginning of the trail is in the community of saint, on the south coast, and goes to Pedra do Calhau Miúdo. The path features stone with walls 10 to 20 meters high and has climbing routes. The rock inscriptions and lithic workshops are even more attractive, in addition, of course, to the panoramic view and the sea bath.

The tour has an easy difficulty level and takes about three hours to complete. Rappelling is done on a negative slope wall of 20 meters, it is ideal for beginners and is recommended for people over 12 years old.

North Coast of Santinho

The beginning of the trail is on the south coast or in the Santinho dunes and continues to Pedra Partida, which is suspended on the coast, with an altitude of up to 100 meters. The path passes through archaeological sites with rock inscriptions. Special highlight for the view of Santinho and Ingleses beach.

The tour has a low degree of difficulty and takes about 3 hours to complete. Rappelling is practiced on a negative wall of 20 meters and is recommended for people over 12 years old.

Galheta Municipal Park

Inside the Municipal Park of Cruet, the trail starts at the suspension bridge of Barra da Lagoa and passes by the old lighthouse. Altogether there are 1800 meters to be covered, with altitude ranging from 0 to 200 meters. The path features stone walls up to 120 meters high and has climbing routes. The route goes around the Ponta da Galheta hill, until returning to the beginning, with stops for rappelling in the thickets of the costão. After the sports activity, the icy sea of ​​Galheta becomes inviting.

The tour has a medium degree of difficulty and takes about four hours to complete. Rappelling is done on a 50-meter wall and is recommended for people over 14 years of age.

Pedra do Urubu - Gravatá Trail

The trail starts on the Manoel de Menezes Highway, which connects Conceição Lagoon à soft beach and leads to one of the highest points in the park, Pedra do Urubu, on the right coast of Mole, with an altitude that varies up to 190 meters.

The tour lasts approximately three hours and has a medium degree of difficulty. Rappelling is practiced on a negative slope wall of 26 meters and is recommended for people over 14 years of age.

Red River

located in the neighborhood Sao Joao do Rio Vermelho, in the northeast of the island, the trail is 1200 meters long, with an altitude ranging from 0 to 240 meters and offers an excellent panoramic view of the east coast.

The tour has a medium degree of difficulty, takes about four hours to complete and is recommended for people over six years of age. The rappel is done on a wall of 25 meters.

Morro dos Ingleses

The trail starts on the left shore of Praia dos Ingleses and is interesting for beginners as it is a light trail, with an altitude of up to 100 meters. The end of the walk is at Pedra Rachada and abseiling activities are carried out in the woods on the coast.

The tour lasts for approximately three, considered of low difficulty, with a 25-meter rappel on a negative slope wall. The minimum recommended age is 12 years old.

Cascading - Rio do Salto Waterfall

Cascading is a form of rappelling done in waterfalls. In Florianópolis, it is practiced at the Rio do Salto waterfall, in the municipality of Águas Mornas. The rappel is done in stages, the last descent being 50 meters, entirely under the water curtain to the base of the waterfall. After the activity, you still have the option of bathing in thermal water.

The waterfall is 75 meters high, the descent is medium level, with a 25-meter rappel and another 50-meter vertical, and is recommended for people over 16 years of age. The tour lasts about six hours and starts and ends on the side of the road that gives access to the Salto community.
