Troop Barracks: A construction of great prominence that represents the height of the grandeur of the works of Silva Paes. The classic style, determined by straight contours, colonial tiles and twelve one-story arcades present such a refinement of proportions and details that it was rarely mentioned by European travelers in their diaries.

Cover: Of oriental influence, access is via a limestone staircase (a rare type of limestone that occurs in Portugal).

Commander's House:  It is of the chamber and chain type; a kind of townhouse quite common in the houses of the administration of Colonial Brazil. This house was the first seat of the Government of Santa Catarina, where Silva Paes lived.
