Leaving the Pedro Ivo Campos Bridge, which gives access to Santa Catarina Island, go straight ahead, along Gustavo Richard Avenue, keeping to the left. Passing by the Convention Center and the Passarela do Samba Nego Quirido (on your right), enter the Tunnel Deputada Antonieta de Barros. Leaving the tunnel, the Via Expressa Sul begins; go to the end, for about 5 km.
At the end of Via Expressa Sul, there is access to Hercílio Luz Airport and the beaches of the South of the Island. The triple track becomes double.
If your route is the airport or the west coast beaches - Ribeirão da Ilha and Tapera -, keep to the two lanes on the right. To get to the Airport, continue for another 3,5 km; this route also gives access to the Ressacada Stadium, owned by Avaí Futebol Clube, and the Florianópolis Air Base.
If you want to go towards the southern beaches from the east coast - Campeche, Morro das Pedras, Matadeiro, Armação, etc -, keep to the left, going up the Elevado do Trevo da Seta and go straight to the Rio Tavares neighborhood.
It's 3 km to the next elevated road, on a modified lane (double or single depending on the time of day), passing the Rio Tavares bridge, with signs on the right to the southern beaches. Continuing straight, under the elevated road, you will be taken to secondary accesses to Campeche beach, and to Lagoa da Conceição.

Turning right, 1 km ahead, is the interchange, next to the Ilha Sul power substation, with access to Praia do Campeche, good for surfing. Passing the interchange and going forward, you will have the option to enter Ribeirão da Ilha, Tapera and Hercílio Luz International Airport on the right. Continuing straight along the SC-406 highway, there is a Military Highway Police station.
Continuing on for 4 km, there is the forked interchange: on the left, towards Praia do Morro das Pedras; to the right, towards Ribeirão da Ilha.
Turning left, right after Morro das Pedras Beach, you arrive at Lagoa do Peri. Following about 2 km from Lagoa do Peri, there is the interchange access to Armação beach and Matadeiro beach. Finally, 2,5 km ahead, is Praia do Pântano do Sul beach, an important fishing center, where the SC-406 ends.
At the forked interchange, on the right, the entrance to Ribeirão da Ilha, along the Baldicero Filomeno highway. Crossing the 8 km of Alto Ribeirão, paved by cobblestones, is Ribeirão da Ilha, one of the beaches that most cultivates the island's traditions. Continuing, you will pass by Ponta de Caiacanga-açú, where Ponta de Fora beach is located. Ahead is the Tapera da Barra do Sul. Further on, Caieira da Barra do Sul, the end point of the highway, where, by a trail of approximately one hour through the hill, you arrive at the semi-deserted beach of Naufragados.
