Leisure in Lagoa da Conceição

The day starts very early and ends very late. Late into the night there are fishermen on its banks trying to catch mainly shrimps. In the early hours of the day, the Lagoa is busy with workers and sportsmen.

A Avenue das Rendeiras, which borders the Lagoa, shelters one of the oldest traditions of the Island, the making of bobbin lace. In the middle of the Avenue, on the edge of the lagoon, two sand courts provide the ideal place for volleyball and footvolley. Fun is also guaranteed at night, as the area is illuminated. It is also ideal to have a beer and eat a shrimp pastel, as this street is home to many bars and restaurants, especially those specializing in seafood.

Athletes in various sports also benefit. In Lagoa it is common to find practitioners of windsurf, kitesurf and jet ski. It is also possible to rent kayaks and paddle boats. On the neighboring beaches, no matter the temperature, there are always surfers in the water. In the dunes between Lagoa da Conceição and Joaquina sandboarding was born.
