Wines

Florianópolis has no tradition and much less climate for winemaking, however it is still a great consumer of this world delicacy. The Planalto Catarinense, located between the regions of Lages, Bom Retiro and São Joaquim, is characterized by the highest altitudes of Brazilian viticulture. With favorable climatic conditions and altitudes, better than the Serra Gaúcha, the region stands out with wines of great presence in the national and world market.

Whether from Malbec, Carbenet, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay or Riesling grapes, young or old, red, white or rosé, it is an excellent accompaniment, especially harmonized, with pasta, meat, fish, salads or served as an aperitif, in addition to having proven benefits to health, if taken in moderation.

Inspiration for poets and novels, wine has been present in history for over 3.000 years, when the Egyptians mastered the techniques of planting and fermenting grapes. Through the ages, passing through the ancient and contemporary ages, it has become a drink of fraternization and joy, thought and reflection, ideal to be consumed warming up a cold winter night or by the sea, brightening the summer.

Curiosity

Many think that the concavity at the bottom of the bottle designates wines of good or bad quality, which is just history. There are several reasons why this feature exists, from making the bottle more stable on the table to better accommodation when serving. The only reason that could influence the drink would be that the concavity is a deposit of color and flavor aggregating sediments, but it is not a general consensus.

Harmonization

The guide's basic tip is that light meats, such as poultry and fish, in addition to salads, combine with white, rosé and sparkling wines, which should be tasted at temperatures between 10° C and 12° C. For red or dark foods, pastas and desserts, such as chocolate or cheeses, the ideal is the red wines, ingested at an ideal temperature of 15°C.
