Location Praia da Galheta Florianopolis

A Galheta Beach it is the only beach on the island of Santa Catarina reserved especially for naturism. Totally virgin, it is semi-desert and sheltered in the Galheta Municipal Natural Park, being a permanent preservation area.

Access to the beach is only via two trails. One of them departs from the north coast of soft beach, which corresponds to 600 meters, and another by Barra da Lagoa beach, a harder and longer path.

Despite being located between two of the busiest beaches on the island of Santa Catarina, Barra da Lagoa and Praia Mole, Galheta attracts few tourists.

Galheta Beach

Protected by a hill that keeps it isolated from the road, Galheta has been frequented by naturists since the 70s, and the practice is not mandatory. Nudists feel comfortable on the sands of Galheta; the more shy women opt for topless. Some go just to get to know it or stop by when arriving from the Barra da Lagoa trail towards Praia Mole. Surfers enter Galheta with the right destination, looking for good waves.

Some of the beach's natural beauties are the small freshwater slopes, water spouts that emerge from the hill of the Galheta Municipal Natural Park. There you can improvise a refreshing and revitalizing shower. Some people arriving from the tiring Barra trail stop at the spout to drink water. This paradise remains, as the Law establishes that the entire area of the Park, totaling 149,30 hectares, is for permanent preservation. Any type of construction, subdivision of the soil, camping, hunting of animals and destruction of vegetation, entry of domestic animals, and access by motor vehicles are expressly prohibited.

Natural Characteristics of the Cruet

They are 950m long with a strip of fine white sand ranging from 3 to 75m. The sea has crystalline and moderate waters, with oceanic beach characteristics. The natural water slopes, the rocks and the frame of the mountains covered with undergrowth and remnants of the Atlantic Forest offer an exuberant landscape. The beach is surrounded by the Morro do Parque Natural Municipal da Galheta, starting at Ponta do Meio and ending at Ponta do Caçador (north coast). Ponta da Calheta is further north, after a two-kilometer cliff formation.

History of Cruet

Due to the growth of real estate speculation in Florianópolis, a group of naturists, ecologists and politicians came together in the 80s to fight for the creation of the Galheta Municipal Natural Park. The law that was created, therefore, establishes that the entire area of the Park - about 149,50 hectares - is of permanent preservation, with an express prohibition of any type of construction, subdivision of the soil, camping, hunting of animals, damages to the vegetation. and access for motor vehicles. The Park was then created by Law 3455/90 and regulated by Decree 698/94.
