Located between Mole and Joaquina, Praia do Gravatá is a little visited beach. Many residents are not even aware of its existence.
With an extension of only 60 meters and a strip of sand between 8 and 20 meters, the small bay is deserted, with the exception of a simple fisherman's ranch.
The stones are covered with bromeliads, popularly known as Gravatá. The plant is hardy and full of thorns.
In the place, considered an archaeoastronomical site, stones with markings dating from prehistory are found, the lithic workshops, as well as megaliths, stones that make up a prehistoric observatory with astronomical functions, millenary proof of the existence of ancient inhabitants in the region.
At Ponta do Gravatá you can see Praia da Joaquina and Praia Mole.
The waves are strong, the water cold and with strong salinity. The sand is fine, white and soft.

O Archaeoastronomy Center, based in Barra da Lagoa, was born in 2004 to centralize the knowledge of archeology and astronomy from the studies carried out by the fisherman, researcher and professor Adnir Antonio Ramos, promote the Archaeological heritage through conscious tourism and help in the preservation of this heritage.
