24th edition of the Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul Film Festival (FAM) has a fully online programming

The virtual edition, held from September 24th to 30th, will feature film screenings, Mercosur Co-production Meeting, University Rally, workshops and debates

Because of the pandemic, 2020 is marked as the year in which the world changed dramatically. With that, the Florianopolis Film Festival - (FAM), which is in its 24th uninterrupted edition, also adapts to the changed context and remains with the same date that was being announced last year, from 24th to 30th of September. 

Completely online, the films, lectures, workshops and debates will be shown on the streaming Innsaei.tv, which can be accessed on the web, SmartTV or even on mobile. The films are available for 24 hours, when a new selection comes in, so the public can set up their own schedule and follow from home the most outstanding productions in Latin America in the last year without missing a thing.

The best films in 2020 will be chosen by the Popular Jury and also by the specialized Critics Jury. In all, 28 sessions are scheduled.

The schedule follows a daily pattern to facilitate follow-up: lives on social networks at noon and 20 pm commenting on the films and events of the day, debate on YouTube with the directors of the previous day's films, always at 16 pm, Children's Show in the morning at 10 am, Show DOC-FAM, Santa Catarina and Mercosul Short Film Show, Video clip e Long Fiction released from 17pm.

The activities of the 4th Mercosul Co-production Meeting, Rally Universitário Floripa, lectures and workshops are distributed throughout the day, always at the same times. The Children's Exhibition can be accompanied with the support of a booklet about the films developed especially for teachers, material that can be used with students in distance classes.

Tickets for the sessions cost only R$ 5 and can be purchased now. on the festival website (www.famdetodos.com.br). There is also a combo ticket. The Rally lectures are open to the public for R$10. Those who registered for the Rally but were not selected can attend all the lectures. The Narrative of Fiction workshop, with Hermes Leal, is also open to the public, but with limited spaces, worth R$50.

Festival Cosa Sarà

FAM 2020 received 832 entries for six of the eight Competitive Exhibitions, with more than 300 hours of films. 40 films were selected for six Competitive Exhibitions - Curtas Catarinense (6), Curtas Mercosul (12), Children's (6), Doc-FAM (6), Long Fiction (6), Video Clip (6). Between productions and co-productions, there are a total of 12 countries involved in the shows: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Spain, Mexico, Norway and India. Rounding out the program are six productions at the WIP Show, dedicated to films that are not yet finished; five that are expected from the Rally Universitário Floripa; six productions from Santa Catarina and three more films in the Show Guests, totaling 60 films in 28 sessions online.

The 24th Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul is produced with the Cultural Incentive Law, support Celesc and Engie with the realization of the Panvision Cultural Association, Muringa Audiovisual Productions, Special Secretariat for Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Pátria Amada Brasil, Federal Government.

Na 4th edition of the Mercosur Co-production Meeting, producers already have a schedule full of activities.

In the ECM Lab (laboratory) there are 12 projects from six countries (Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Peru), selected among 37 applicants.

In addition to activities with producers, distributors and television channels such as HBO Latin America, participants will participate in online lectures, with questions and answers in real time, with the main audiovisual promotion funds, such as the Ibermedia Program , World Cinema Fund - WCF (Berlinale), BAM/Proimágenes (Colombia), Projeto Paradiso, among others.

University Rally Floripa 

The film marathon is a unique experience of audiovisual production, professional connection and integration with students from different countries in South America, with the support of great experts in the field and lectures in the areas of script and direction, production, photography and editing. This year in remote format and online, teams of university students and recent graduates in cinema, audiovisual and communication are challenged to produce a short film of up to 5 minutes in 100 continuous hours during FAM 2020. The films produced are shown at the Festival and the winning team will be invited to participate in the Rally in 2021.
