Panvision opens registration for the 2023 Film Festivals

For the first time in a unified way, filmmakers will be able to submit their films to festivals organized by Associação Cultural

Registration is open for two of the film festivals organized by Associação Cultural Panvision, the second edition of the São Francisco do Sul Latin American Documentary Festival – FALA São Chico and the 27th Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul International Film Festival – FAM. This year, to facilitate the participation of filmmakers, Panvision unified registrations and main information about festivals in a single Registration Guide, producers can choose one of the Festivals and even also register their availability for other Panvision actions, such as film clubs and special sessions with partners.

“The time has come that many have been waiting for. We are also eager to discover the new productions and find the narrative line of the year. Registration for FALA and FAM is open! As an artistic director, thinking about a series of restructurings in Brazil of instances of promoting culture, in addition to the entire process in the world to continue with the healing of the relationship of having lived through a pandemic, I would love to find works that dialogue with social reflection with a dose of spirit”, says Marilha Naccari, director of programming at Panvision.

Films produced between the years 2022 and 2023 are accepted, and each festival has its specificities and different dates for completing registrations. Fictions, documentaries, animations, shorts and feature films can be submitted. Entries go until May 10th for FALA São Chico and July 21st for FAM 2023, and the festivals have dates for June and September, respectively.

For FALA São Chico 2023, which is now in its second edition, the Festival is aimed at Latin American short documentaries, from 3 to 15 minutes. Combining cinema and history, the event takes place in the oldest city of Santa Catarina, São Francisco do Sul, located in the north of the State. In its debut edition, FALA showed 26 films and gathered an audience of more than 1.500 people. This year, the festival will be held from the 21st to the 24th of June.

The FAM, on the other hand, arrives this year in its 27th edition, with eight competitive exhibitions, a market event, training activities and much more. The festival opens submissions for several audiovisual formats: short and feature films, documentaries, music videos, children's and youth films, films that are still in the process of being finalized, among others. Filmmakers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela can participate. FAM 2023 will be held between the 21st and 27th of September.

Through the Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul International Film Festival – FAM, which will celebrate its 2023th anniversary in 27, the Associação Cultural Panvision obtained recognition in the audiovisual medium for its work of cultural diffusion of the various cinematographies in Brazil and Mercosul.

As a continuation of this work, Panvision also carries out the Circuito FAM de Cinema, Curta Jacarehy, FALA São Chico and the EcoVision Seal projects, aiming to constitute a planet with good environmental, economic and social practices and the exhibition circuit, contemplating the policy of promoting actions that decentralize and democratize the population's access to cultural goods.

Our proposal is to provide quality events, committed to the improvement of cultural citizenship, contributing to the formation of an audience, through free access to recent production and expressive cultural diversity.
