Bands from Palhoça hold an event with three shows in Lages this Saturday (13)


This is the fifth event of the “Palhoça – Recorte na Estrada” project; on Sunday (14), the initiative will promote a round table with cultural agents from the region


O Palhoça Project - Cutout on the Road Continue your journey to the top of the Santa Catarina mountains. This Saturday (13), the initiative will pass through the city of Lages, with a triple show. Carried out in Hillbilly Rock House, the event will feature shows by bands Yaju and the Hypertensive, Soul Ceam e Akanoá. The party starts at 22pm and entry will be free. 

This will be the fifth triple show of the initiative — which started in February and has already visited São José, Laguna, Criciúma and has a confirmed schedule for Florianópolis this Friday (12). After that, the bands from Palhoça will continue their journey through Santa Catarina, with a program that runs until the month of June.

On Sunday (14), the project will continue in Lages. From 16pm onwards, the famous Pracinha da Cultura, next to CEU, will host another project activity: a 'round table' open to the public. The chat is aimed at cultural agents in the region, with the aim of generating connections and discussions about the contemporary independent music scene in the state of Santa Catarina. 

The “Recorte - Palhoça na Estrada” project is made possible with resources from Federal government e Paulo Gustavo Cultural Emergency Law, by Santa Catarina Cultural Foundation (FCC).

It is worth noting that Hillbilly Rock House is located at Rua Zeca Neves, 382, ​​in the center of Lages.

Palhocense artists

The project has its roots in the band soul cream, composed by Dierre Pichorz (guitar and vocals), Jorge Kloppel (bass) and Oliver Silvestre (drums). The group is known for its unique sound that combines R'n'B, rock, funk, soul and blues, and has performed at prominent events such as the UFSC Festival and the Florianópolis Cultural Marathon. Recently, they released the EP “Samsara”, which was highlighted in the press, as well as two live sessions and an EP of cover versions.

Since its formation in 2018, the band Akanoá has been successful with releases and performances in prestigious venues in the local music scene. His records include the EPs “Uma idea esse mundo” and “Projeto”, as well as a live session with the collective A Bolha. Composed of Anderson Oliveira (bass), Caetano Cainã (drums), João Thibes (vocals) and Matheus Barbi (guitar), the band is in the process of producing its first full album.

Yaju and the Hypertensive, in turn, is a band with a more recent history. The quartet emerged after the release of the EP “Years Before The Bad Times”, singer Yaju decided to collaborate with friends to explore new sounds and revisit previous works. With Oliver Silvestre on drums, Dierre Pichorz on bass and Thiago Santos on guitar, the group was present at the 9th Catarinense Rock Week and held a live session by the collective A Bolha.

Schedule until June

The calendar of events for the “Palhoça – Recorte na Estrada” project will continue until June, visiting other cities in Santa Catarina. Check the schedule:
