Panvision opens registration for the University Rally Floripa

The Cinematographic Marathon is part of the program of the 26th edition of the FAM and brings together students from all over Mercosur

Communication, Cinema, Audiovisual and Performing Arts students can now sign up to participate in the Cinematographic Marathon University Rally Floripa 2022. The activity, which is part of the 26th edition of the International Film Festival Florianopolis Audiovisual Mercosul — FAM 2022, brings a series of integrative activities for students in the area, who have the opportunity to experience a little of the professional environment in an intensive week marked by connections, mentorships and hard work.

University students can participate or recent graduates — courses linked to the audiovisual area of ​​Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and Bolivia) and their Spanish-speaking associates (Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru). In all, 21 students will be selected.

At the time of registration, each university student can choose one of the six areas that most identify with their specialization and aptitude: directing, editing (editing), production, sound (capturing and editing), cinematography (camera operation) and acting. . The creation of the script will be carried out collectively.

At the event, teams are formed and, together with participation in training lectures, students are challenged to produce a short film, lasting up to five minutes, within a time limit of 100 hours. They have the help of professionals in the field throughout the Festival week and, at the end of the event, the films are shown at the Competitive Exhibition Rally Universitário, at the FAM 2022 Closing and Award Ceremony.

This year, three tutors are confirmed for the marathon, two of them international. Natural Arpojeu is a director, screenwriter, film teacher, doctor script e coach of actors in Argentina. She has won five awards at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and is currently presenting her second feature film, “Libre”, at festivals.

The second tutor present at the Rally is the Paraguayan Mario Tonanez who, in addition to being an actor in theater, television and cinema, is also a teacher and playwright. Graduated from Instituto Superior de Bellas Artes, he has acted in the films of directors Juan Carlos Magnelia and Tana Schembori, “7 cajas” (2014) and “Los Buscadores” (2017). In 2022, he made his debut on the Amazon Prime Video platform, acting in the international series “Sin Limits”

And to complete the team of tutors, Rally 2022 welcomes the director, screenwriter, photographer and editor, Higor Gomes. He holds a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from Centro Universitário UNA and is part of the Talent Network of Projeto Paradiso. His debut film, the short film “Impermeável Pavio Curto” (2018), received the Zózimo Bulbul award at the 51st Brasília Festival of Brazilian Cinema, in addition to having been screened at more than 30 festivals and shows. He is also a member of APAN (Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals) and ABRA (Brazilian Association of Screen Writers).

The last edition of the Cinematographic Marathon was held at FAM 2020, online. The winning team, which produced the music video for the song “E Quem Vai Diz”, by Estácio Neto, is already guaranteed a spot in this year's edition of the Festival, a prize awarded at the 24th edition. 

The 26th Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul – FAM 2022 is produced through the Culture Incentive Law with Copatrocínio Vero Internet and held by Associação Cultural Panvision, Muringa Produções Audiovisuais, Prêmio Catarinense de Cinema 2021, Fundação Catarinense de Cultura, State of Santa Catarina, Special Secretariat of Culture, Ministry of Tourism.
