Streaming services have developed very quickly in Brazil and in the world in recent years. Thanks to streaming technology, we have an instant transmission of video and audio data at our disposal without having to wait for the download. This technology was made possible with the arrival of high-speed internet.

In technical terms, with streaming technology we can send data in a constant stream and at high speed that are stored on certain devices without taking up the memory space of computers, tablets or cell phones.

One of the most significant milestones in streaming occurred in 1995. That year we had the first real-time broadcast of a baseball game over the internet, between the Seattle Mariners and the New York Yankees.

In 1994, we had a partial internet broadcast lasting about 20 minutes of a Rolling Stones concert that was held in Dallas, Texas.

Shortly afterwards, in 1996, in Brazil, we had a direct streaming transmission from the Embratel offices of the singer Gilberto Gil, releasing the song “Pela Internet”.

Through this evolution of technological means, today we have services at our disposal that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.

All this progress and the increase in the popularity of streaming also reached casino platforms and sports betting sites. Every day we see more live services offered to its users such as slot machines and classic board games such as roulette, poker and blackjack live with real croupiers in studios prepared with cameras that allow filming from all angles.

In these live casinos users feel like they are literally in a physical casino. A much more realistic relationship that allows players to interact with the dealer and also with the other players at the table, which undoubtedly makes for a much more exciting experience.

With these changes, the most important sports betting platforms and casinos, together with game developers, are investing more and more in mobile applications for smartphones, which will certainly be the future of this market, thanks to the mobility and practicality offered by these small devices. .

According to research carried out, a large number of bettors and casino players use their mobile device mainly to watch the matches of their favorite team and thus place live bets as the match unfolds on the pitch.

In addition to the streaming services used on casino platforms, we have others that are also extremely popular. One of them is Rede Globo's streaming service, GloboPlay, launched in 2015. It offers journalistic programs, series, films, soap operas and other products. Globo's goal is to make Globoplay one of the most important video streaming channels in the country.

Another example is Netflix, which started with the streaming service in 2007 in the United States, arriving in Brazil in 2011 and becoming the most popular streaming platform in our country.

On its platform we can watch movies, series, musicals and several other programs without having to wait for the download.

There is also Amazon Prime Video, now with around 200 million subscribers worldwide and Netflix's main competitor. Amazon Prime Video offers a wide range of services to its subscribers in addition to movies produced by the company and other studios, streaming music and e-books on Prime Reading.

We can also mention other services among the thousands that exist such as Youtube, Spotify, HBO, among others.
