BADESC Cultural Foundation has a new general director

A BADESC Cultural Foundation, which is considered one of the most respected cultural institutions in Santa Catarina, renewed its general direction. Margaret Waterkemper assumes the general direction of the space together with Helena Mayer, who remains in the administrative and financial directorship. Margaret is a journalist and photographer, and was the Foundation's arts director from November 2013 to February 2015.

Eneléo Alcides leaves the post, who served for two terms, from August 2013 to February 2021. During this period, more than 560 free activities were carried out. Among them, 105 exhibitions, 27 courses in the cultural area, 75 workshops and seminars, as well as 13 art fairs, 96 book and CD launches, 197 festivals and film shows, with the exhibition of more than 1.500 films. at the Cineclube Fundação Cultural BADESC and the preservation of the institution's memory in the organization of seven art catalogues. Still under his management, the Paulo Gaiad Space was inaugurated.

In 2021, the Foundation, which occupies a large house at Rua Visconde de Ouro Preto, 216, in the Center of the Capital, completes 15 years of operation, while the Fernando Beck space, inaugurated in February 1991 in the hall entry of the Santa Catarina State Development Agency SA – BADESC, completes three decades.

And in celebration, the Foundation's website (www.fundacaoculturalbadesc.com) was restructured during the pandemic and gained a page that rescues the memory of the artists and all the events promoted by the institution.
