Music has the power to channel feelings. With references and creativity, melodies are formed to portray yearnings, talk about dreams and overflow with longing. These are the elements that the band cambirel gathered to compose his repertoire of authorial songs. The result of this process can be seen this Friday (14th), when the group will launch its first EP. Entitled "About", the work will be available on the main digital music platforms. 

The debut EP features the tracks “Metamorphosis","All for yourself","Before going","Friday", in addition to "Submerged” — song already released as single and which has an exclusive music video. 

"About” is the result of all the work that the band has been building since 2019. Cambirela's compositions present not only themes that involve the sensations of passing time, but also a rhythmic junction and a mixture of electric sounds and, sometimes, even accordionists. All this results in the sound style that the band itself defines as “bittersweet alternative rock”.

All five songs that make up “About” were recorded and mixed in the studio Little Room Studios, in Palhoça, with production of Thales Stipp. The drum lines were captured at the AeroTullio Sound Distillery, in the Jardim Atlântico neighborhood, in the continental region of Florianópolis.

Palhoça alternative rock

Cambirela was founded in 2019 by Arthur Paim (vocals, guitar and accordion), Victor Folster (drums), Renan Martins (guitar) and Maykon Jovino (low). Not by chance, the group bears the same name as one of Palhoça's greatest postcards, the Cambirela hill — a scenario that is considered mystical by the city's most traditional residents. 

Since the beginning, the group composes with its own identity, mixing influences and bringing reflective lyrics. With a composed repertoire, they started recording “Nos” in 2022. In the same year, the band debuted on stage. As part of the “A Bolha” collective, the quartet performed at the “Borbulha” event, alongside other local artists. At the same time, Cambirela starred in a live sessions recorded in the studio Octopus Soundbox. The material will be released soon. It was in March 2023 that the band debuted on digital platforms, with the release of the single and the clip for the track “Submerso”.
