Azorean Fashion and Culture – Wedding dress made with bobbin lace from the lacemakers of Lagoa da Conceição

Dress with Bobbin Lace

The couple Felipe Nasato and Mayara de Sá exchanged the heat of Florianópolis for the cold of the Santa Catarina mountains to star in a beautiful wedding style boho chic, in the municipality of Rancho Queimado/SC, in the event space of the famous Jardim dos Plátanos restaurant, on the second Saturday of April this year (2022).

Combining Azorean style and culture

The style boho chic, a term originated from the term 'bohemian', refers to casual, relaxed looks and more artisanal production. It is a style that was popularized mainly by the hippie movement in Europe during the 70s. Bobbin Lace, an embroidery technique brought by Azorean immigrants to the coast of Santa Catarina, practiced mainly on Santa Catarina Island, is handmade by nature and has all the attributes to further enrich the bohemian style.
