Main soccer teams from Santa Catarina in the B series and their directions in competitions in 2021

After playing in the B series of the Brazilian Championship, the main teams from Santa Catarina are already getting organized for the next competitions. The Santa Catarina football championship is one of them, which will start at the end of February. 1 - Chapecoense

O Verdao finished Serie B with 73 points and 20 wins. Despite having access to the A series after winning the classic against Figueirense, Chape only won the title in the last round in a game against Ponte Preta, with a goal in stoppage time. Leaving the vice-leadership of the championship to América-MG, which differed from the Santa Catarina team only in the goal difference.

A Plate returned to work in February and announced the departure of Alan Ruschel, bound for Cruzeiro for two seasons, in addition, the team is looking for a new goalkeeper, as João Ricardo preferred not to renew his contract with the club. Four other players also announced their departure: Vini Locatelli, Felipe Garcia, Willian Oliveira and Roberto.

Also in February, the team will compete in the Recopa de Santa Catarina against the Joinville team and also in the state championship, a competition in which Chape is the current champion. And it will also participate in the main football competition in the country, Serie A, which will only start at the end of May.

O island lion ended the championship with 55 points, which are distributed in: 16 wins, 7 draws and 15 losses, a result that guaranteed the team's ninth position after 38 rounds and consequently the team's permanence in the B series.  

In addition to ensuring the permanence of coach Claudinei Oliveira, the club renewed the contract with the following athletes: defender Betão, striker Renato, midfielder loaned from Internacional Valdívia, goalkeeper Glédson and Getúlio, vice-top scorer of the B series and responsible for scoring 5 goals. 

The players who will not stay at the club are: Eduardo Kunde who will go to Japan; Rômulo who will play in the United Arab Emirates; Leonan who is in contact with Santa Cruz; Matheus Barbosa, loaned to Cruzeiro until the end of the season; Ralf, who is currently free to negotiate and Pedro Castro, who has decided to terminate his contract with the team after 4 seasons.

Avaí's next game is for the Santa Catarina championship on February 24, against Juventus. 

3 - Figueirense

After finishing the B series in the 17th position, totaling 39 points and with only 9 victories, Alvinegro, which completes its centenary this year, unfortunately was relegated to Series C in the penultimate round of the 2020 championship. 

Thus, the team will compete for the Series C, from May 30th and also the state championship.

Currently, the team is preparing for competitions and has made many changes to the squad, such as: The departure of midfielder Dudu, who was loaned by Vasco; The arrival of midfielder Lincoln, on loan from Palmeiras; and also, the promotion of six youngsters from the base to the professional squad: midfielders Lucas Martins and Montebello, goalkeeper Antônio, midfielder Uesley Gaúcho and defenders Gabriel Nazário and Ítalo. 

So far, the departure of 13 athletes and the same number of players have been announced, as well as the renewal with coach Jorginho and Everton Santos.

Aiming for the state title, the Figueirense returns to the pitch on the 25th, against Metropolitano.
