Down the pile driver

The downtown carnival deserves some repairs, like every year. But the most important thing should come from councilors passing a law that determines locations for car sounds. Only one of these “piledrivers” erased the entire battery of the Sou + Eu block and the voices of the band led by Neném Maravilha on top of an electric trio. Councilman Afrânio Boppré was touched and promised to take the matter to the plenary before the carnival in the Center becomes an inferno of automotive cars killing our hearing.

 

By the way

The best place to gather in the city center was at the Rosário staircase with the Pauta que Pariu block, organized by journalists on Carnival Saturday. Good live music with marchinhas and carnival classics and without deafening the crowd.

 

I am + before

Management of the biggest carnival group in Floripa needs to return to the old concentration of Sou + Eu, in the vicinity of Avenida Osmar Cunha. The great thing about the block is the “procession” until you reach Praça XV. Next to the TAC and surrounded by cars with automotive sound, the game ended.

 

On board

Embratur's Superintendent, Vinícius Lummertz, attended the parade on the catwalk Nego Quiridu and his friend, Mayor César Júnior on Saturday. On Friday he had gone to Salvador and on Sunday he had flown to Rio de Janeiro. Most of his carnival was aboard a Boing. On Ash Wednesday went further: Italy. It is “selling” the Olympics in Europe.

Former mayor Edison Andrino went to honor the carnival through the streets of Santo Antônio de Lisboa alongside his friend, the little man Décio Bortoluzzi. They were amazed by the sound, which was also infested with “pile-driving” and electronic sounds. Where are our marchinhas, samba-enredos and carnival songs? They went to hell!

In my monthly column in the Folha da Lagoa newspaper, where I only comment on things from our postcard, I anticipated the failure of União da Ilha da Magia in the Nego Quirido catwalk parade. Without community support, no association reaches the top. UIM needs to go back to its roots with plots and sambas talking about our people and our things.

 

in Sapucaí

Before turning 60, I'm finally going to watch a fashion show in Sapucaí. And nothing more, nothing less than the main samba schools in Rio de Janeiro that won this carnival and that return to the “sambódromo” in the Parade of Champions this Saturday. On the way back I make comments and comparisons with the Nego Quirido fashion show. Good weekend. After that, 2016 begins.
