Selah Sue enchants the public of Florianópolis

The artist made an exclusive show at Espaço Floripa last Sunday. With talent to make a difference in music, Belgian artist Selah Sue, named as the main revelation in 2012 by Rolling Stone Magazine, came to Brazil to perform on the Rock in Rio stage and performed an exclusive show in the capital of Santa Catarina. The singer, who is inspired by icons such as Lauryn Hill and Erikah Badu, gave a more intimate show in Floripa last Sunday (15) and delighted the audience. Beautiful, young and blonde with blue eyes, the 23-year-old singer sang and danced in an ambitious performance, just like her debut album, an intense mix of electric rock, organic hip hop and soul-funk. Selah Sue showed that she came to represent the new generation, whose music has no boundaries.

The public was very varied, proving that the singer has been pleasing all tastes. The show was opened by the talented local artist Maria Luiza, starting the event promptly at 21pm. She did very well on stage, pleased and excited the audience that she was waiting for the main attraction. At around 22 pm, Selah Sue entered the stage and began her performance with the slow “Always Home” and “Mommy”, moving those present. After a touching start, which showed all the power of her voice, the singer stirred the audience with the hits “This World”, “Craze Vibes” and “Raggamuffin”. She also covered Lauryn Hill with the song “Lost ones”. The beauty, friendliness and talent of the singer greatly pleased the Florianopolitan public, which certainly looks forward to her return to Ilha da Magia. Who knows to illustrate the upcoming summer season...   Joyce Taú joice.tau@hotmail.com Photos: Carlos Kilian
